Last week wasn't a complete disaster but the absence of Morne Steyn certainly hurt me so I've bitten the bullet this week and shuffled my team in order to afford him.
Before du Plessis' benching was announced I'd already bought de Malmanche who was $200,000 cheaper at the time. Mealamu was his usual reliable self last week and hopefully his good form will continue.
In the locks I stuck with last week's pairing of Boric and Whitelock. The latter proved a great bargain buy as the third best earning lock, though Boric's early substitution didn't do me any favours - hopefully he'll be on the field for a little longer this week.
I was forced to sell benched Ashley Johnson who earned reasonable points for such a cheap buy, replacing him with Crusaders captain Kieran Read - probably never going to be a goldmine of points but usually a solid earner. I was surprised that Spies didn't earn more but I'll stick with him for now.
With the aforementioned Steyn in for Kockott, I'm keeping Carter as he had a relatively quiet game last week and I've no doubt he'll be back on top soon. I'd not like to bet against him as the top scoring HV of the competition come the finals.
Nonu and Barnes earned good points so they keep their places as does Sivivatu, who'll surely open his try account against the cowardly Lions on Friday. I dropped Wulf for Cheetahs flyer Lionel Mapoe, who, even moved into the centres, will undoubtedly be worth his cheap price.
